Choose a project, and sign up to participate! Every volunteer will receive a jersey, lunch and transportation to and from their project, as well as the 'tools' necessary to do their part. All that's missing is you. Read on, and take part. We're waiting for you to join! NB: A registration fee of $20TT applies for CVD 2010.

Bridging the Gap! St Vincent De Paul Society (Archbishop Finbar Ryan) Home for the Aged The Archbishop Finbar Ryan Home for the Aged is the largest undertaking to date, by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Trinidad and Tobago. Here we will be spending time with the elderly at the Home. Volunteers will have an excellent opportunity to share conversation with an older generation, and to help to bring a smile to faces who may not have seen their own families for a long period of time. Go down there and spread some cheer! - To join this project, select "Home For the Aged" in the signup form.Wildlife Orphanage and Rehabilitation Center (WORC) WORC is in urgent need of maintenance and repair on its grounds and animal cages. W.O.R.C is mainly run by its passionate manager, who has treated everything from bats to opossums, land snails to frigate birds and oiled land birds. She has rescued boas from under car hoods, caimans from backyards and factory sites, and owls from the sitting room. Detta, the manager of WORC, (and lone staff member) is currently abroad for medical attention, and so the site is alwyas in need of additional hands for upkeep. At present, none of the animals are at the center. Hidden in San Juan you would find the El Soccorro Wildlife Conservation Center. At first glance, you may not believe that there are turtles, snakes and various species of birds nestled inside. The center is a beautiful location to get aquainted with Trinidad's wildlife. After succumbing to a fire in November last year, the center is still undergoing renovation work. Volunteers will help to rebuild cages as well as assist with the general upkeep of the facility. You will have a great opportunity to get up close with the animals! - This project has already been fully staffed.
Habitat for Humanity This organisation is one that really needs no introduction! They are known throughout the world as well as within Trinidad and Tobago as one who has a vision of excellence in providing homes and developing communities. This year we have partnered with the Habitat for Humanity and we will be assisting them in the actual building and preparation of grounds for 2 new homes. Is There Not A Cause? Is there Not a Cause (ITNAC) was founded by Avonelle Hector Joseph and Christopher Joseph. In spite of winning various awards and accolades for their humanitarian work the founders still remain humble and eager to work harder and do more for mankind. Before the devastating earthquake in Haiti in January, the INTAC family frequently worked in the poverty stricken country bringing relief, building schools and sharing the Word of God. Since the earthquake INTAC has intensified their efforts and the call to bring aid to Haiti. For this project, volunteers will be working with ITNAC in sorting and packaging relief materials for this special call to Haiti. - To join this project, select "Is There Not A Cause" in the signup form. |
